After years of assuming that I could not tolerate contact lenses due to my sensitive eyes, Dr. Rowe provided me with a solution. His patience, expertise, kindness, and diligence have resulted in me being able to wear contact lenses daily, without discomfort. Dr. Rowe spent a gracious amount of time working through the lens selection process, over a period of weeks, so that I could once again see the world much more clearly. Thank you, Dr. Rowe and Doylestown Family Eye. - Rick W.

Dr. Rowe prides himself on offering the best contact lens fitting process for his patients. There are literally hundreds of contact lens brands out there. There are also the many variables that make your eyes unique, including:
• your prescription
• the curves of your cornea (astigmatism)
• the integrity of your tear film (dry eyes and more)
• your age
• your need for reading glasses, and more
Philosophy - While there may be faster ways to rush through the contact lens process, Dr. Rowe believes that patience and diligence are best for the long term success for contact lens wearers. If you or someone you know is interested in contacts or has struggled with them in the past, please allow us to solve those problems.
Selection - Dr. Rowe encourages his patients to look at a contact lens fitting as a process rather than an event. Whether for sports or for getting rid of your dependence on reading glasses, he will order your eyes a set of trial lenses, educate you on the reasoning for his particular choice based on your exam and then review with you healthy habits for proper contact lens care.
Trial lenses - Trial lenses are typically worn for about one week. This real life trial period will allow you every opportunity to test the comfort and vision of the custom designed lenses in the exact context with which you will be using them. After the week, you will come back to the office for a check-up where any issues will be explored and resolved by changing the parameters of your unique fit. This process continues until we find a set of lenses that is perfect for you and your needs. All visits and trial lenses are included in your fitting process. Also included is a starter kit with specialized contact lens solution and a convenient storage case.
